Summer Outing 2026

Our Summer Outing this year will be a combined trip to Norwich Castle Museum and Art Gallery, and Wymondham Abbey.

The trip will take place on Wednesday 17th June, and will be in place of our normal monthly meeting that month.

We will travel by coach from Stowmarket to Norwich, leaving at 9:30am.  We will have two hours to look around the Castle, Museum and Art Gallery, followed by an hour for lunch.  Lunch options will include the Castle Cafe, bringing a picnic to have in the castle gardens (weather permitting of course!), or one of the many tearooms and cafes in the town.

We will then travel to Wymondham Abbey.  Note that due to limited access to the Abbey by coach, we will be dropped off, and picked up, about 400 yards (5 to 10-minute walk) from the Abbey.  At the Abbey we will have a tour by their tour guides, which will be followed by tea/coffee and biscuits.

We will travel by coach back to Stowmarket, arriving at 5pm.

It promises to be an interesting and varied day out!

The total cost, including the coach, entrance to the Castle, and the Abbey tour and refreshments will be between £32 and £35, depending on final numbers.
